Before I get to the main topic of this news post, I'd like to mention that I uploaded a short that I made earlier in the month, Digging for Gold. It got 6th place, which was pretty cool. I haven't gotten in the top 10 in a while for whatever reason, not that the quality of my stuff had fallen or the quality of everything else was just far better, it was mainly due to the portal being so backed up during the summer months. The last time I was actually a runner up, which was my first time in the top 10 was when I got 7th for FrogMan the Seres Episode 5, which somehow managed to get quite a bit of views in its time. Looking at this, and seeing the underwhelming amount of views that Digging for Gold has gotten, made me realize that people really don't watch anything anymore, unless it gets an award, is front-paged, videogame related, or porn. It doesn't bother me too much, since I didn't put a lot of time into Digging for Gold, but I have submitted things recently that I've put a lot more time in and they've gotten barely any views because they slipped under the radar. The only reason I'm bringing this up is that it's a bit of a let-down seeing stuff I've worked long and hard on get so few views when crap I submitted a few years ago got at least 1,000 views just because they were submitted.
Anyways, that's not the point of this news post. Time for my plans for 2014!
Right now I'm working on a few animations on and off. I was working on my Christmas animation but I've lost interest in it and probably won't touch it again until December :/. There's another short animation I've been working on, on and off for the past couple months, but I'll keep that one a secret :3. The main thing I'm working on now is FrogMan and Pico, my Pico Day submission that I started work on last year. It was supposed to be for Pico Day 2013, but I'm horrible at meeting deadlines. I still have roughly 9 and a half minutes of it to animate, so hopefully I can get it done in time for Pico Day. I uploaded the first scene for Pico Day last year, and you can see it here if you haven't arleady.
When February comes around, I might start work on a short that I started last year, because it has to come out in February. Well, it doesn't have to but it's funnier if it does. Then after that (if I do decided to finish it) It's back to work on FrogMan and Pico.
After my nearly consistent monthly animations last year, I think it's time to slow down a bit. This year I'll try to work on bigger and longer projects, and i hope to finish all the animations I started last year. I'm also going to try to finish season 1 of FrogMan the Series finished finally. Since I'm graduating this year, I think I should have enough time to finish seven 8 minute+ animations before the years end... maybe...
Speaking of FrogMan, I think I'll work on episode 6 after I finish FrogMan and Pico because I've been sitting on episode 6 since October of 2012, and it really needs to be finished and I really want to finish that.
Also, it turns out that this year marks 10 years since the whole concept behind "FrogMan" was created, so I really want to make this year special for the characters and the stories, so expect a lot of FrogMan related content.
I would also like to join NATA again this year, but then again I might not 'cause I'd rather be working on these things that have been leaning over my shoulder for several years.
TL;DR, I submitted a new animation, I'm working on FrogMan and Pico again, expect it in April, I'm going to work on longer animations, trying to get season one of FMTS done, and yeah.
God damn I need to stop writing such walls of text, heh.
EDIT: Now there's an update video!
